Sapiens NAS provides real-time data on critical urban air pollutants, empowering city planners and environmental authorities to gain insights into the area's air quality. By leveraging this data-driven intelligence, the project team plans to use data from this network to make more informed decisions to enhance sustainability and liveability in different districts, supporting Hong Kong's broader smart city transformation. And it has paved the way for wider adoption of NAS sensors in similar smart city technologies across the region.
In a smart city prove-of-concept (PoC) project, Sapiens assisted the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer in the Smart Lamppost Scheme by deploying lamppost-mounted NAS sensors in seven locations at Kowloon East, in which the NAS provided important real-time air quality information. Those lampposts collected real-time urban data including air quality information, and transmitted it to the cloud for comprehensive analysis.
