Incident Response at Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel with Comprehensive Air Quality Monitoring in Hong Kong

    • In response to a ventilation system malfunction at Tunnel East Ventilation Building in Hong Kong, Sapiens rapidly deployed multiple autonomous MAD-AF300 monitoring stations to provide real-time air quality data focused on oxides of nitrogen and PM for the tunnel and surrounding areas. This monitoring data supplemented the Highway Department’s investigation, helping to assess the environmental impact and formulate emergency response solutions.

To address this issue, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, HKSAR Government have deployed Sapiens' advanced NAS AF300 air quality sensors to closely monitor pollutants such as NO, NO2, CO, CO2, and PM2.5 generated by traffic emissions within these terminal facilities. The high-density air quality monitoring network solutions creates real-time air pollution maps, enabling the identification of hotspots and the diagnosis of key contributors to air quality problems.
